Mission Action Plan Introduction
Introduction
The parish council has been meeting since March 2005 as part of the process of developing our Mission Action Plan or MAP. Also contributing was the survey which was completed during this period. We are now at the end of Phase 1 of the process, ie. we have developed draft mission and vision statements and a number of goals. These are set out below and will be considered at a special general meeting of parishinoners on 28th August 2005 at 11:00 am. Once the mission and vision statements and goals are accepted with or without amendment, we begin Phase 2 of the process, and that is putting together strategies to enable us to reach each goal.

The object of the mission statement
The mission statement seeks to state clearly why the Anglican Parish of Surfers Paradise exists.
The Mission Statement
As a servant Church committed to the kingdom of God, we exist to glorify God, make disciples of jesus and show Christ’s love to all.
The object of the vision statement
The vision statement seeks to express what we believe God is calling us to be.
The Vison Statement
By the year 2010 to be a vibrant welcoming Anglican Community of 1000 people meeting in congreationgs and small groups; living out the great commission and the great commandment in the city of the Gold Coast and beyond
Goals
Undergirded by prayer we will seek:
To develop effective outreach to:
- Children and Famalies
- Youth
- Tertiary Students
- DINK’s
- Singles
- Seniors
- Including Tourists
- Further develop an inclusive and caring community demonstrated by good pastoral care, uity and cohesion.
- Develop and traing disciples of Jesus, able to use their gifts for ministry
Other Goals
Further develop our small group ministry so that 50 % of the congregations members belong to small groups by 2010
Seek to continue and develop our ministry to the poor and the marginalised.
Minister to the materially rich
Develop an intentional outreach to the Surfers Paradise strip
Facilitating Goals
Use effectively our property for worship and outreach
Develop an effective financial plan to support our mission
